10:00 a.m. Filmmaker Maximilian Plettau presents COMEBACK, a film about German boxer Jürgen Hartenstein, a 35-year-old former middleweight champion hoping to re-enter the sport.

11:30 a.m. SILVERDOCS presents the US premiere of MECHANICAL LOVE, this fascinating film explores the intimate and complex relationships between people and therapeutic robots. Special appearance by the robots in the film will follow the screening.

12:00 p.m. Filmmaker Juan Manuel Sepúlveda presents the US Premiere of THE INFINITE BORDER, a visually stunning yet unromantic account of migrants journey on the road from Central America to Mexico and finally to the United States.

1:30 p.m. SILVERDOCS presents “Just the Two of Us,” a free showing of short films featuring BEGINNING FILMMAKING, FAREWELL PACKETS OF TEN, IF IT HAPPENS, THE LADIES, PETER AND BEN, ROZ (AND JOSHUA), and SCORING.

1:30 p.m. Filmmaker Nahid Persson presents the North American Premiere of FOUR WIVES – ONE MAN, a poignant, occasionally hilarious, often harrowing glimpse into an institution oft undertaken but rarely understood—polygamous marriage.

2:00 p.m. Directors Alan and Susan Raymond present the world premiere of HARD TIMES AT DOUGLASS HIGH. The film shows a year inside Baltimore’s Frederick Douglass High School and examines the parts of a broken public education system. Preceding the screening, 1-1:45, the Frederick Douglass Marching Band will perform on the Plaza Stage and then briefly at the screening.

2:30 p.m. SILVERDOCS presents Werner Herzog’s ENCOUNTERS AT THE END OF THE WORLD, which documents Herzog’s travels to McMurdo Station on Antarctica as a guest of the National Science Foundation. No penguins were killed in the making of this film.

4:00 p.m. Filmmakers Nicky Gogan & Paul Rowley present the US Premiere of SEAVIEW, which gives a poignant portrayal of the modern immigrant experience in a small resort town in Ireland.

5:00 p.m. Megumi Sasaki presents HERB & DOROTHY, a film exploring the modest means of Herbert and Dorothy Vogel, art collectors, whose shared passion and discipline defied stereotypes and redefined what it means to be a patron of the arts. Panel discussion following the screening will feature the filmmaker and subjects as well as Ruth Fine from the National Gallery of Art.

5:15 p.m. Executive Producer Sheila C. Johnson and filmmaker Tom Cappello present A POWERFUL NOISE, which follows three women in Kosovo, Vietnam and Mali as they go about the daily business of seeking justice in the world. Panel discussion will follow the film featuring Sheila Johnson, Tom Cappelo, Bui My Hahn, subject, and Dr. Helene Gayle, President of CARE.

5:30 p.m. “DOC TALK”: Sports Docs as Social Commentary featuring Kief Davidson, Director, KASSIM THE DREAM, Kassim Ouma, KASSIM THE DREAM, Susan Koch, Director, KICKING IT, and Lawerence Cann, subject, KICKING IT.

5:45 p.m. Filmmaker Georgi Lazarevski presents the East Coast premiere of THIS WAY UP, which documents the separation and isolation of a Catholic nursing home as an Israeli dividing wall creeps up around it.

6:15 p.m. SILVERDOCS presents “(Dis)Connection,” a free showing of short films featuring ONE DAY, TONGZHI IN LOVE, and VIRTUAL FREEDOM (PODLOVE).

7:30 p.m. Filmmaker Geoffrey Smith presents THE ENGLISH SURGEON, which tells the story of British neurosurgeon Henry Marsh, who spends several weeks a year in Ukraine performing surgeries with the crudest of tools.

7:45 p.m. SILVERDOCS presents TROUBLE THE WATER, directed by Veteran filmmakers Tia Lessin and Carl Deal, which weaves together first person footage with their own into an evocative dialogue that reveals a powerful, heart-wrenching, infuriating and ultimately inspiring Katrina survival story. Film subjects will participate in a Q&A following the film.

8:00 p.m. Greg Kohs presents SONG SUNG BLUE + SHORT (THE ART OF KARAOKE). The film follows Mike & Claire Sardina, AKA “Lighting & Thunder,” as they struggle with rehabilitation, unpaid bills, drug addiction and lost hopes. Director Greg Kohs and Claire Sardina (Thunder) will participate in a Q & A followed by a performance by Thunder.

8:15 p.m. Co-directors Michael Tucker and Petra Epperlein present BULLETPROOF SALESMAN, a film about an armored vehicle salesman whose business acumen provides in a disturbingly simple and unsentimental context in which to understand international conflict and suffering.

9:00 p.m. SILVERDOCS presents a free outdoor screening of WHATS HAPPENING! THE BEATLES IN THE U.S.A. as part of the “1968 and Beyond” strand.

10:00 p.m. Filmmaker Anna Broinowski presents FORBIDDEN LIE$, a mesmerizing character study of con artist and author Norma Khouri.

10:15 p.m. Director Kief Davidson presents KASSIM THE DREAM, which tells the story of Kassim Ouma who defected from the rebel army in Uganda and began a new life in the U.S., quickly becoming a world champion boxer. Director and subject will be in attendence.

10:30 p.m. SILVERDOCS presents LOST HOLIDAY, which tells the story of A Czech tourist traveling in Sweden finds a suitcase containing 22 rolls of undeveloped film.

10:45 p.m. Filmmakers Roberto Berliner, Leonardo Crivelare, and Lula Queiroga present the North American Premiere of PINDORAMA : THE TRUE STORY OF THE SEVEN DWARVES, which explores the world of Pindorama, a circus run by seven Brazilian siblings whose identities rest as much on their physical stature as they do on their absolute normalcy.
