Trek Nation

Image 1 / 6

‘Trek Nation' journeys with Rod Roddenberry, the son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, as he explores his father's legacy. Rod's quest takes him boldly beyond the pointy ears and beneath the costumes to a deeper understanding of one of the most hugely successful sci-fi entities of all time. He discovers a world of philosophy, morality, and ‘fandom' inspired by his father's creation. Rod brings us behind the scenes of The Original Series, inside the first ever Star Trek convention, and gives access to his father's home movies of the 60s and 70s. Luminaries George Lucas, JJ Abrams, and Seth MacFarlane share how the cultural phenomenon that is Star Trek affected both their personal philosophies and creative work. Star Trek veterans DC Fontana, Ron Moore and Nichelle Nichols share personal stories of their days on the set and inside the writer's room, tackling troubling contemporary social issues in the 23rd century.
