The brand new six-part series Ways to Save the Planet features a team of the world's most prominent scientists and engineers, including the UK's Dr Basil Singer, who, between them embark on a range of cutting edge projects from the controversial field of geo-engineering. This cutting edge area of science involves the development of radical large scale ideas to help reverse the effects of global warming. Each episode sees our group of experts come face-to-face with a different revolutionary planet-saving idea in a bid to find out whether they could ever really work, with each of them building experimental versions for themselves. Pioneering schemes range from creating the world's thinnest lenses, powerful enough to deflect heat from the sun, to a polypropylene covering to protect the ice landmasses and reduce the rate of ice melt. It might seem like science fiction, but could this help save our planet?
