Doctors Behind Bars

On November 7, Discovery Health breaks into Chicago's notorious Cook County Jail-once home to such hardened criminals as mobster Al Capone and serial killer Richard Speck. DOCTORS BEHIND BARS goes inside this 100-acre correctional fortress to share the dramatic stories of the women employed at the jailhouse medical staff. These nurses and physicians are called upon to treat chronic diseases, drug addiction and mental disorders, all of which are common among the inmate population. In addition, fights and stabbings can land inmates in the jail's emergency room for a surprise visit.
