(Silver Spring, MD) -- We all have our secrets, from sneaky romances to petty theft to spreading lies and beyond. But while telling the truth may be liberating, the consequences can be shattering on Investigation Discovery's new series WORST THING I EVER DID. Watch as seemingly good people reveal their darkest, most secret deeds to the ones they have deceived-from selfishly conning a relative out of thousands of dollars, to stealing away someone's else's fiancée. WORST THING I EVER DID kicks off with back-to-back premiere episodes on Thursday, August 14 at 10/9c and 10:30/9:30c on Investigation Discovery.

"Shifting ID's focus from legal consequences to moral ones, WORST THING I EVER DID puts viewers in the front row as everyday people confront their own guilty consciences," said Henry Schleiff, Group President of Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel, Destination America and Discovery Fit & Health. "The series reveals the depths to which humans can sink and the heights to which we can rise when asked for forgiveness."

Each 30-minute episode of WORST THING I EVER DID follows one person as he or she leads viewers step-by-step through their most devilish deed, culminating in a dramatic, real time confession to the victim.

In the series premiere on Thursday, August 14 at 10/9c, Detroit housewife Khalood uses her daughter's failed marriage and inability to have children as an excuse for becoming a gambling addict. Saddened by her daughter's unhappiness, Khalood turns to slot machines to numb her maternal pain. But, in the process, she has blown tens of thousands of her husband Jerry's retirement funds. Jerry is eager to retire soon, and Khalood - wracked with guilt and worry that he will leave her - must confess. Against all odds, she must weather his fury and salvage their life together.

Then, at 10:30/9:30c, Shaunda is a successful businesswoman, but 20 years ago, she was the lover of drug kingpin, Ray. Shaunda hoped they would build a new and more stable life after the birth of baby Ray Jr. but was crushed when Ray moved deeper into the deadly world of drug dealing. After the tragic death of their baby, Shaunda was furious that Ray didn't come to the funeral. Her revenge? Shaunda ratted him out to the DEA, ensuring he would be locked up for 20 years. But when Shaunda learns how Ray secretly mourned their child's death, she's wracked with guilt and flies to Detroit to confess her terrible mistake.
