Dominick Misino
Detective Dominick Misino is a retired, 22-year veteran of the New York City Police Department. His background is varied and diverse, but perhaps one of his most significant roles was serving as NYPD's primary hostage negotiator for six years, placing him in charge of 120 trained officers and more than 200 hostage/barricade incidents.
He was a trained member of the NYPD counter-terrorist team and sniper team where he negotiated with a variety of people, ranging from those with mental disorders threatening to jump off bridges to criminals who had trapped and barricaded innocent hostages. Two of Misino's most noteworthy cases were the negotiations to rescue 105 people from a hijacked Lufthansa airplane and a 12-hour long bank robbery from which he safely released three hostages.
In HOSTAGE: DO OR DIE, Misino breaks down cases minute-by-minute to reveal what it took to rescue the hostages or, in some instances, what went wrong.
