M. William Phelps

M. William Phelps is a best-selling author, crime expert and investigative journalist who has published 20 non-fiction books ranging in subject from female murderers to America's first spy. He has won multiple awards for his novels, including the 2008 New England Book Festival Award for I'll Be Watching You. He has made more than 100 television appearances and was a crime consultnat on the first season of Showtime's Dexter.

In 1996, Phelps lost his sister-in-law, who was five months pregnant at the time, to a suspected serial killer. This fueled his passion to hunt for answers in other such cases. In the process, he has been called "the nation's leading authority on the mind of the female murderer." In DARK MINDS, Phelps channels this ache to revisit unsolved homicides believed to be the work of serial killers.
