Earth Day Marathon

Kicking off the green-powered marathon on Wednesday, April 22 at 12 PM (ET/PT) is the hit series ECO-TECH, followed by ECOPOLIS at 5 PM (ET/PT), and finally the world premiere of CITY 2.0 featuring host Majora Carter at 9 PM (ET/PT)

In CITY 2.0 eco-activist Majora Carter takes viewers to the front lines of the renewable energy revolution in her hometown of New York City.  In this ever growing metropolis there is a constant increase in the population’s consumption of energy and resources.  What would New York be like if those resources could be renewed?   Carter examines remarkable technological innovations that might change the way residents of New York City live including: using waterways to create clean tidal power; reducing the city’s reliance on fossil fuels by turning trash into gas; managing storm water through more green space; living roof tops; smart sponge technology; and the engineering of a cleaner transit system that partially powers itself.
