BELLY OF THE BEAST episode descriptions:

Episode 1: Tanks
Host Rossi Morreale finds out what makes the Abrams M1 tank tick. From factory to battlefield, he meets the people who build them and the soldiers who depend on them. At the General Dynamics factory, Rossi discovers the technology that goes into the most dangerous vehicle on the battlefield. He tests out for himself its incredible mobility, as he learns to drive the 70 ton giant. He sees an explosive test of a new type of armor and with the army at Fort Knox, he learns how to target and fire the huge 120mm gun, the firepower in the belly of the beast. Finally, Rossi joins an exercise in the Mojave desert to see how this awesome machine performs in the ultimate test of battle.

Episode 2: Helicopters
From the production line to the front line, host Rossi Morreale meets the people who build helicopters and the pilots who fly them. At Bell Helicopter, Rossi discovers the clever technology that gives the chopper its ability to take off and land virtually anywhere. He sees the precision involved in helicopter manufacture and discovers the awesome lifting power of the Chinook. He finds out for himself just how hard helicopters are to fly and gets to ride in a classic chopper - the Bell 47. Rossi flies with the people who rely on these amazing machines - he gets rescued by the LA County Fire Department, and with the US Army at Fort Hood he's part of a live firing exercise with Apaches and Blackhawks. Finally, Rossi joins stunt pilot Chuck Aaron as he puts a helicopter to the ultimate test in a roller coaster of a ride.

Episode 3: Giant Trucks
Host Rossi Morreale enters the world of the giant Ultra Class Mining Truck. From factory to open pit mine, he meets the people who build them and the miners who operate them. At the Komatsu factory in Illinois, he joins the team assembling the largest breed of truck on Earth. He learns how to weld the enormous chassis and how to transport something that's wider than most highways. He discovers the technology that goes into a vehicle as tall as a three storey house. He tests for himself its incredible mobility, and learns what it takes to stop a fully loaded 600-ton beast. At Bingham Canyon mine, the largest man made excavation on earth, he discovers how even a 24-foot truck is a tiny cog in an even more massive machine. Finally, Rossi and truck tackle the ultimate test as he attempts to haul 500 tons of dirt in under an hour. He must negotiate obstacles, overcome huge speed bumps and still beat the clock.
