COME ALONG ON A BACKSTAGE TOUR OF THE WORLD'S MOST AWE-INSPIRING STRUCTURES ON BUILD IT BIGGER!

Just when you thought they had reached the limit, Discovery Channel's BUILD IT BIGGER returns with a new season - taller, heftier and definitely upsized. Danny continues his travels around the world to breakdown the most astounding engineering feats such as Hong Kong's Stonecutters Bridge which is the world's second longest cable stayed bridge, the multi billion dollar Al Raha beach development in Abu Dhabi, and the US Navy's state-of-the-art amphibious assault ships.

Nerdy, quirky and undoubtedly enthusiastic about architecture and construction, Danny's big break came when he answered Discovery's call for a TV host audition while working on his Harvard graduate thesis. Now, as the host of BUILD IT BIGGER, Danny brings his love for architecture to each episode, going behind-the-scenes of live construction sites to reveal the complexities, challenges, dangers and ingenious executions of each job.

Danny doesn't just watch from a distance but prefers to get up close and personal to the very fabric of the construction site, assisting the crews and getting, well... deep down and dirty. Ever willing to go out on a limb to shed light on complex construction techniques, he tries his hand at some of the jobs involved in the projects. This includes having to venture up skyscrapers and towering cranes - and facing his acute fear of heights!

From public works and private buildings to warships and bridges, Danny takes viewers on a joy ride through the processes behind these engineering marvels - from design to construction. Bigger, better, taller, faster - the sky's the limit!

BUILD IT BIGGER episode descriptions:

CityCenter, Las Vegas
Las Vegas has never seen a bigger roll of the dice than the US$12 billion dollar CityCenter. Join Danny as he explores how this mega-resort aspires to change the city from an opulent vacationland to a continental metropolis.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium
Behold the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium, which measures 3 million square feet, 73 acres and cost over $1.1 billion dollars to build. Join Danny as he combs the largest football stadium ever constructed in the United States - before 100,000 fans eventually do.

Navy Amphibious Warship
Danny explores a new class of amphibious assault ship for the US Navy, the LPD17 that is 700-foot long and weighs 25,000-ton, and can launch over 700 Marines and equipment on helicopters and hovercrafts.

Hong Kong Bridge
Danny heads to China's south coast to climb atop the nearly completed Stonecutters Bridge in Hong Kong. This $343 million dollar engineering marvel has a 3,340-foot main span, making it the world's 2nd longest cable-stayed bridge.

Panama Canal
Once the largest and most expensive engineering project the world had ever seen, the Panama Canal is in danger of becoming obsolete. Join Danny as he finds out if a new $5.25 billion expansion project could resuscitate the Panama.

Peru Dam & Tunnel
One of the deepest tunnels ever attempted will break through the Andes to bring water to drought-ridden farms in western Peru. Join Danny as he visits remote Olmos to learn how this project will dramatically impact this country's future.

Abu Dhabi
Danny visits the $500 billion Al Raha Beach development in Abu Dhabi, where they have reclaimed land from the sea and erected buildings that would revolutionise the world of architecture.

NASA
Danny visits NASA for an unprecedented look behind the scenes as they transition from the Space Shuttle to the Constellation Program. We'll help build the rocket that is taking American space exploration into the future: the Ares.
