THE FEARLESS CAPTAINS AND THEIR CREWS ARE BACK TO REEL IN ANOTHER SEASON OF DEADLIEST CATCH

The Bering Sea's toughest crews return for an all-new season of Alaskan king crab fishing. The sixth season of DEADLIEST CATCH will take viewers through some of the roughest situations the captains and crews have ever had to face on the high seas. From treacherous weather conditions to crew conflict over a tragedy, don't miss the action on the latest season of Discovery Channel's award-winning DEADLIEST CATCH

The ultimate tough guys of television - Captains Sig Hansen (Northwestern), Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand (Time Bandit), Keith Colburn (Wizard) and Phil Harris (Cornelia Marie) - return to the Bering Sea for another season of DEADLIEST CATCH. Also in the race this season is Captain "Wild" Bill Wichrowski (Kodiak), who is no stranger to the business. Fishing for crab, with a US$100 million dollar prize haul on the line, this season promises adventure, drama and challenges that will rock each boat to its core. From monstrous waves to over-the-top tension, these captains will realise that the most violent storms come from within.

The Bering Sea brotherhood faces a fracture in dynamics as Captain Sig pits his skills against his old rivals, Captain Phil, the Hillstrand brothers and Captain Keith. Old allies become mortal enemies when crab fishing turns personal. While some skippers rage against each other, another skipper fights a lone battle to stay alive. Two young deckhands are traded as an experiment in "attitude adjustment" conducted by their maniacal captains. Before the season is through, though, a terrible tragedy will alter two young lives forever.

DEADLIEST CATCH episode descriptions:

Slow Burn
The 2009 king crab season begins with tensions at an all time high. One deckhand threatens to quit, while another sets his premature sights on the wheelhouse. When the captains gather for their annual meeting, a line is crossed. Highlights include sibling rivalry on the Cornelia Marie, crew poaching, the arrival of a new boat and confrontation at the season-opening Burn Barrel.

Breaking 'em In
It is week two of king crab season and a storm looms as the fleet hauls their first crab. One greenhorn cramps up after just a few pots, while two junior deckhands are tested on unfamiliar boats, but it is the veteran deckhands that really try the skippers' patience. The Time Bandit gambles on lightning striking twice while Captain Sig gets a whiff of mutiny.

Sea Tested
It is the third week of the hunting crab season, and Captain Phil and Captain Sig's experiment in trading junior deckhands comes to a close. The young crew members are tested by big waves and cruel pranks until the end. Meanwhile, conflict between skippers and deckhands continues to rage unchecked. The new guys get the full treatment, Captain Bill and the Kodiak fight the "new boat" doldrums, and a storm hits the Wizard but it is not Mother Nature who is behind it.

Bering Sea Swim Club
Captain Sig and Captain Phil liaison to reclaim their junior deckhands with a high seas transfer. But when the young crew members submerge themselves in the bitter, treacherous tides - the plan quickly spins out of control. Find out why no one thinks it is fun to switch boats at sea, a Northwestern deckhand agonises over terrible memories, while Time Bandit fights to stay alive and Kodiak undergoes a deckhand shake-up.

Arctic Quest
As the boats finish up king crab season, Captain Sig decides to head back out to the lonely expanses of the northern Bering Sea - despite protests from Edgar and the crew - to hunt down the fabled blue king crab. In this episode, Kodiak finds it hard to get out of the doldrums while Jake just can't help getting on the wrong side of dad, and Time Bandit faces off with a monster storm.
