MAN VS. WILD TAKES ADVENTURE TO THE EXTREME WITH BRAND NEW SEASON

- Seasoned adventurer Bear Grylls demonstrates life-saving survival skills in some of the toughest environments on Earth -

Plunge into more extreme adventures with Bear Grylls with all-new episodes of MAN VS. WILD. Once again, Bear ventures into some of the world's most treacherous terrain - from the jungles of Vietnam to the unforgiving glaciers of the Arctic Circle. Venture deep into these forbidding landscapes alongside Bear and find out what he has to do to survive.

Bear Grylls is no stranger to extremes. He has served with the British Special Forces, explored the Arctic, and was the youngest British climber to complete a summit and descent on Mount Everest. In Discovery Channel's hit series MAN VS. WILD, Bear shows us how to survive the toughest and most forsaken environments by putting himself in the position of a stranded castaway. Using his specialist survival techniques, he attempts to navigate his way through these environments and make it out alive. Along the way, he braves the biting cold, treks through desolate deserts, encounters dangerous predators, and for food he has to make do with whatever he can catch or find - dead or alive!

Drawing upon all his experiences as a soldier, mountaineer and seasoned adventurer, watch as Bear claws his way back to civilisation, armed only with a few supplies and the clothes on his back. Each episode is a thrilling adventure that will leave you wanting more!

Episode 1
Bear Grylls kicks of the brand new season of MAN VS. WILD in the back-woods of Alabama. Dropped in by helicopter at the top of a 700-ft canyon, he climbs down an enormous tree to reach a white-water river. Here he constructs a raft out of flood debris and shoots rapids before capsizing at the top of a perilous waterfall. In the woods, he comes face to face with a vicious wild boar, braves a raging forest fire, and gets trapped without light deep in the heart of an enormous limestone cave.

Episode 2
Bear Grylls heads for the icy wastes of the Arctic Circle, where he tackles frozen waterfalls, hunts wild reindeer battles against some of the coldest conditions on the planet. Using his parachute as an improvised kite he crosses a vast frozen lake, and then plunges neck deep into a frozen river. When he finally makes the safety of the coast his adventure is far from over, he must make a raft from bits of washed up debris to reach the outer islands of the huge fjord.

Episode 3
Bear Grylls ventures deep into the heart of the Vietnamese jungle where he tangles with a deadly spitting cobra, braves a raging jungle river and encounters blood-sucking leeches. Bear uses his bushcraft skills to make bamboo traps and spears a catfish. The jungle is a dark and forbidding place, and Bear has to use all his survival skills and improvising navigation aids to keep him off the floor and the jungle's nastier inhabitants.

Episode 4
Bear falls to Earth from an upturned bi-plane to lock horns with the Deserts of Southwestern Texas. He's up against some of the harshest terrain in the U.S. - the rainy season storms generate flashfloods that shape this landscape into jagged chasms; the rest of the year is brutally hot and finding water is the biggest challenge. As Bear travels through this parched land, he traverses deep gorges, locates an oasis in the middle of the desert and takes on a diamond back rattlesnake.

Episode 5
Bear Grylls continues his "Man Vs Wild" adventures in the wilds of Alaska. Dropped into the Chugach Mountains by the Alaska Air National Guard, Bear ice-hops across a frozen lake, rappels off the edge of a crumbling glacier and breaks out of a melting snow-cave. In black bear-infested forests, he turns a fallen tree into an aerial runway and is left hanging by his fingertips when a log bridge collapses. On a raft made out of oil drums Bear takes to the high seas, gets up close and personal with humpbacks, and is stranded on an iceberg. In a final leap to safety Bear narrowly avoids being crushed between the ice and a passing fishing trawler.
