Mars: The Quest for Life
On May 25, 2008, the Phoenix Lander is scheduled to touch down on Mars. If successful, it will have traveled 423 million miles to its final destination in the Martian Arctic, where it will pierce the frozen soil and dig into solid ice. What it finds there may be no less than evidence of extraterrestrial life. This film follows the team of the Phoenix as they try this risky mission again -- their original attempt in 1999 was a failure. If the Phoenix survives its risky descent through the Martian atmosphere, we will see images of the Martian surface at the highest resolution ever.
