Stephen Hawking has come to be regarded as the greatest mind in Physics since Albert Einstein. Despite being afflicted with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – a debilitating motor neuron disease – for practically all his adult life, he has continued his research and quest to discover the deepest working of the Universe. This December, Discovery Channel takes you on an exciting ride of adventure and mystery with the man himself, in STEPHEN HAWKING AND THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. This two-part special premieres on Sunday, December 7 at 2100 hrs (9:00 pm SIN/HK). Encores Monday, December 8 at midnight (12:00 am), 0800 hrs (8:00 am) and 1400 hrs (2:00 pm) and Saturday, December 13 at 1400 hrs (2:00 pm).

Twenty years after he wrote the best-selling popular science book, A Brief History of Time, Professor Stephen Hawking examines just how far our understanding of the Universe has developed. There have been astonishing advances, and Hawking introduces science ideas which weren't even imagined two decades ago. In his own words “Twenty years on, my need to find answers to the fundamental questions about our existence, is undiminished.”

STEPHEN HAWKING AND THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING underscores Hawking’s fascination with the big questions – How did the Universe begin? How will it end? What was there before it? Hawking is our tour guide on a journey through the Universe, in which the world's most exciting and eminent scientists join him in explaining mysteries of physics.
