DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S SURVIVORMAN LES STROUD TAKES LIVING OFF THE LAND TO THE EXTREME IN BRAND NEW SEASON

Les Stroud, better known as SURVIVORMAN, has survived black bears in Alaska, explored the scorching sands of the Kalahari, ventured into the densest parts of the Amazon, and even nearly collapsed due to heatstroke. After risking life and limb throughout the first two seasons, Les is back for more survival challenges in season three of SURVIVORMAN. Will it get easier for the bona fide survival expert? Probably not. Find out what obstacles, challenges, and harsh environments Les Stroud will be up against on brand new episodes of SURVIVORMAN premieres this month.

With no food, no water, and no shelter, SURVIVORMAN Les must rely on his years of training, raw instincts and sheer will to survive alone for seven days in the world's harshest environments. Les not only needs to survive for a week with few supplies but he has to film everything himself, lugging over fifty pounds of camera gear everywhere he goes. Follow wilderness and hard-knock survivor Les as he travels the world from the Canadian Rockies to the Artic tundra, and roughs it out in no-man's land.

In the latest season of SURVIVORMAN, among the inhospitable environments that Les finds himself in are the rugged Sierra Nevada, unforgiving Australian outback, and cannibalistic Papua New Guinea. Can Les make it through the week relying purely on his wits and tenacity? Or will the third season finally do him in?

SURVIVORMAN episode descriptions:

Sierra Nevada
The rugged Sierra Nevada is a hiker's dream; the only problem is that it is very easy to get lost and succumb to the perils of the environment. Find out what Les has to do to survive when he finds himself in this predicament.

Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies is one of the most magnificent mountain ranges in America - and one of the most treacherous. With two horses and his usual 50 pounds of camera gear, Les must learn how to gather food and water while navigating the precarious precipice.

Arctic Tundra
Stranded on northern Baffin Island in a ruggedly beautiful yet unforgiving land where the summer sun doesn't set for days on end, Les learns some particularly harsh lessons in solo Arctic survival.

Deep Woods
Millions of hunters embrace their primal nature every year as they trek into the woods in search of wild game. It can be an exhilarating experience but it also can be very treacherous. Les discovers just how wrong a hunting trip can go.

Australian Outback
Les gets stranded in the remote Australian Outback when his ultralight airplane runs out of fuel. Alone on an endless expense of sun-burnt grasses, Les must get creative if he is going to survive.

Papua New Guinea
Les is stranded in Hewa territory in the Papua New Guinea jungle and left to survive alone. Though food appears to be plentiful, surviving for a week is going to be an exhausting adventure for Les.
