Dr. Zoz Brooks

Robotics and Computing Systems:

If there's esoteric tech research out there - he knows about it. Thoughtful and well-versed in a wide range of subjects, he enjoys teaming up with the other guys to demystify complex, cutting-edge technologies.

Dr. Zoz Brooks received his undergraduate degree from the University of Adelaide in South Australia, majoring in organic chemistry and computer science, and received first class honors in computer science. He has a Master's degree from the Robotic Systems Laboratory of the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Brooks' PhD was awarded at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, based on research conducted in the Robotic Life group at the MIT Media Laboratory, culminating in a dissertation entitled "Coordinating Human-Robot Communication".

He has served as a reviewer for the journal Presence and has contributed to various international conferences including the IEEE-RAS/RSJ International Conference on Humanoid Robots, the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, ACM SIGGRAPH Emerging Technologies, and the ACM SIGCHI International Conference on Advances in Computer Entertainment.
