Celebrating inspirational British aircraft and profiling the passionate enthusiasts who keep these planes flying, CLASSIC BRITISH AIRCRAFT pays tribute to the unique design qualities, highly distinctive styling and brilliant innovation of these machines. Episodes air every Monday at 2130 hrs (9:30 pm SIN/HK) beginning January 5. Encores on Wednesday at 0100 hrs (1:00 am), 0900 hrs (9:00 am) and 1700 hrs (5:00 pm); Saturday at midnight (12:00 am), 0800 hrs (8:00 am) and 1600 hrs (4:00 pm).
CLASSIC BRITISH AIRCRAFT will explore the history, successes, failures and current uses of both civilian and military aircraft, such as the VC10 (the fastest airliner in the world after the demise of Concorde), the Trident 'Interceptors'', the Lightning (which still holds climbing records that may never be broken) and the Sea Vixen.
Accompany mechanics who piece together these items of living history, trawling the world for obscure parts. Learn from craftsmen who have rediscovered lost skills, and meet some of the airmen who operated the aircraft in their heyday, as well as current pilots who have the responsibility of handling these irreplaceable machines.

Episode 1: Jetliner
Highlighting de Haviland's Trident and Vicker's VC10, this episode explores the history and pioneering features of these early passenger jetliners. Find out why these classic aircraft still have fans to this day.
Episode 2: Surveillance
This episode focuses on military aircraft - the English Electric Canberra and the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod. Built for information gathering, surveillance and rescue missions, find out how these planes did their job.
Episode 3: Buccaneer
The Blackburn Buccaneer was a military aircraft developed in the 1950s to carry nuclear weapons. With advanced features for its day such as low detectability and high speeds, it played a valuable role in the military effort.
