Jochem joined Discovery Networks Benelux in February 2007, taking up his position as SVP, General Manager in March 2009. In this role Jochem holds responsibility for free-to-air channels Discovery Channel and Animal Planet, as well as four digital networks; Discovery HD, Discovery Science, Discovery World and Discovery Travel & Living.
Jochem is also a member of the Discovery EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Senior Management Team.
Previously, Jochem worked at music channel TMF (The Music Factory), part of MTV Networks Benelux, where he joined as an intern in March 2000. In 2004, Jochem was appointed member of the MTV Networks Executive Board with a portfolio of Affiliate Sales, Digital Media and Press & Communications.
At MTV Networks, Jochem was responsible for creating a new Digital Media team that integrated online, mobile, gaming & interactive television (including content, infrastructure, innovation, marketing & adsales).
Jochem was born in Leiden in the Netherlands, and studied Communications at the University of Amsterdam.
