Host and apprentice, Mike Rowe continues to scour the US to take an unflinching look at the unsung American worker, and the unusual but vital vocations that must be done. He tries his hand at being a coin washer at the only hotel in San Francisco to wash their money, spends the day practising animal acupuncture on a goat called Lilly and in the first episode of this new series, becomes an apprentice palaeontologist. The series culminates with Mike helping to erect a radio communications tower in Dakota before heading to Hollywood to celebrate his work in all 50 American states with a song.
