During a podcast, English author and former radio producer, Karl Pilkington admitted that he doesn't see the fuss about the Seven Wonders of the World, despite never seeing any of them. English comedy duo Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant were so outraged by his comment that they decided to challenge him and send him around the globe, taking him out of his comfort zone, to visit ALL Seven Wonders. Whilst Stephen wants the experience to broaden Karl's mind and change his outlook on the world, Ricky wants Karl to hate every minute of it, purely his own amusement. Filmed in high definition, ‘An Idiot Abroad' is a documentary travelogue series that covers Pilkington's journey as he visits; The Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Petra in Jordan, Machu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Taj Mahal in India and the Great Pyramids of Egypt.
