Battling late winter storms, thick sea of fog and heavy turbulence, the airline's intrepid pilots are among the best in the world, transporting champion snow dogs bound for the Iditarod race, delivering speciality equipment to difficult locations and fresh supplies and medicines to winter-bound villages. The Era Alaska team are also instrumental in emergency situations: ferrying fire crews to combat the wildfires that rage across the state and performing search and rescue missions. Year round, Jim and his family are motivated by the fact that the livelihoods of thousands of people depend on their business and employees every day.
