The History of Fine Fashion is a historical enquiry into fashion design across the ages. Travelling through five different eras of time, from Roman, to the Middle Ages and 1900s, this series reveals all about the evolution of morals, culture, religious trends and policies. Learn about the dramatic influences that have affected fashion from laws that were imposed by the Church to try and restrict the extravagance of clothes, to fashion liberation through the rise of feminism and sport accelerating the move away from rigidity and suppression. You will also have an opportunity to learn about leading fashion designers including Chanel, John Galiano and Stefano Pilati, head designer for Yves Saint Laurant.
