Hot Secrets of the Cold War

'Hot Secrets of the Cold War' is a documentary by Artem Mihalkov celebrating the history of Russia's Submarine-Naval Fleet. In 1981, Soviet intelligence services were on alert in preparation for a potential US nuclear attack against the USSR and its allies. On 25 October 1983, they discovered US forces were launching a secret military operation against Grenada, a Caribbean island nation and ally to the Soviet Union. As the US Navy prepared to invade, they unexpectedly encountered a Soviet submarine: the K-324. The K-324 was armed with the most advanced cruise missiles loaded with atomic warheads. Discover why this conflict, which lasted for 10 days in the centre of the Atlantic Ocean, threatened to start World War Three.
