More Industrial Revelations
Ronald Top is off again, touring Europe to uncover the characters, the machines, inventions and stories from our industrial past. From oil wells in Poland to brick-making in Britain, steel rolling in France to steam engines puffing up the Alps, the series gives Ronald the opportunity to combine his enthusiasm and humour with some fascinating stories. He covers a range of subjects, from early in the industrial revolution, such as canal building in Sweden, and linen making in Belgium, to the next wave of industrialization, with the development of the internal combustion engine, flying and new building practices such as reinforced concrete. Each of the ten programmes traces the development of a particular industry or collection of industries, with some surprising twists and turns.
