Presenter, Amanda Lamb, scours the nation in this makeover show with a difference that surprises Britain's unsung heroes with the home makeover of their dreams. And it's all done in secret. The chosen candidates are those who have dedicated their lives to helping others but have let their own homes to fall into disrepair due to lack of time and money. Each week a different candidate will be whisked off on a weekend break after being nominated by a friend as a 'thank you' for all their good deeds. While the homeowner is away, an army of volunteers give their house a special makeover in just 36 hours. But this is no ordinary army - it's made up of all the people that the homeowner has helped over the years. This is their chance to say a great big 'thank you' in the biggest way imaginable.
