Under New York

Image 1 / 10

‘Under New York’ is a fascinating exploration into how billions of gallons of water a day manages to reach the thirsty residents of New York. With a population of approximately eight million people, they are dependant on a water system reliable enough to cope with demand. Structural engineer John Rosiello and mechanical engineer Christine McKinley are on a mission to follow the water from rain clouds, down mountains, into enormous reservoirs, through wild waterways and into kilometres of hidden aqueducts and tunnels. Finally, its journey comes to an end in the mains and storage tanks of Manhattan Island. The layers of vital infrastructure under America’s largest municipal water system will be revealed.
