Tourette's Uncovered

UK PREMIERE ONE-OFF MONDAY 3RD OCTOBER, 9.00PM

Image 1 / 10

Tourette’s Uncovered is the unconventional story of four boys; Jayden, Jonah, Marques and Colin, whose lives, and the lives of their families, are moulded and shaped by their, frequently stereotyped, Tourette’s syndrome. The programme helps viewers understand the parenting challenges faced by various families and opens the door to a broader conversation of a condition that is often mocked by others. It challenges the understanding of those who have it and shows that there is no one right way to parent a child with the condition. The four boys, aged nine to seventeen, tell their own stories – describing tics, numerous awkward situations and the struggle for serious social acceptance. Facing school bullies, girls and the slowly dawning prospect of independence is difficult enough for
any teenage boy but going at it all with Tourette’s syndrome creates a whole
new level of adversity.
