Survivorman

From the sun-scorched sands of the Kalahari to the snake-infested jungles of the Amazon, Les Stroud has survived it all, and this January, Survivorman is back with a brand new series. Filmmaker and naturalist Stroud experiences intense temperatures, exasperation and challenges as he demonstrates the key survival skills needed to stay alive. With no food, water or shelter, Stroud must rely on his years of training, raw instinct and sheer will to survive alone for seven days in the world's harshest environments. Armed with little more than the clothes on his back, he adds to this immense test by filming the weeklong journey himself and carrying 50 pounds of camera gear every inch of the way.

In this new series, Stroud travels the world, setting up real life scenarios in which he must survive. Episodes follow him as he travels to the frigid Arctic tundra where he reveals a clever way to start a fire; to Temagami, Canada, where a Search and Rescue operation is deployed when Stroud finds himself too far off the beaten track; to Papua New Guinea, one of the world's least explored countries, where Les is up against undiscovered plant and animal species; and in the Colorado Rockies he has to find food and water for himself and his horses.
