This month on Discovery Science it is Spy Week. Premieres include Spy Factory (Monday 19th September, 8.00pm) which explores whether the 9/11 attack could have been stopped, and examines the National Security Agency from its tragic failures during the lead up to the 9/11 attacks to its secret rooms installed in the nation's telecom networks. Also premiering is Spy Wars (Monday 19th September, 10.00pm) which takes a rare behind-the-scenes look at the most sophisticated and secretive intelligence communities in the world, and meets the men and women who served as double agents in the US, went undercover in Cuba, Israel, Britain, Russia and China, and lived to tell their stories. With "Bourne"-like recreations, the first episode features a former top Mossad agent pushing the limits to help solve the mystery behind the assassination of Saddam Hussein's top weapons scientist, Gerald Bull. Many remember the race to space but few know that the US and USSR ran parallel space programs whose covert goal was to launch military astronauts on spying missions. Astrospies (Tuesday 20th September, 8.00pm) delves into the untold story of this top-secret space race, which might easily have turned into a shooting war in orbit.
