Group Vice President, Communications
Paul Schur is Group Vice President, Communications for Animal Planet and Discovery Inc.'s Social Good. In this capacity he leads all communications strategies and PR efforts for Animal Planet and its various platforms and serves as network spokesperson; he also serves as lead PR executive for select Discovery, Inc. Social Good initiatives, including Project CAT. Schur reports to Susanna Dinnage, Global President of Animal Planet.
Schur earlier served as head of commuincations for Animal Planet. Before joining Animal Planet in 2016, he was Vice President of Communications for Discovery Channel. In this capacity Schur managed day to day press activities and developed and executed communications strategies for network programming and brand defining events, including GOLD RUSH and SHARK WEEK.
Before joining Discovery, Schur served as spokesperson for both CNN and Fox News Channel. During his tenure in cable news which spanned two decades, Schur managed press efforts for network coverage of breaking news events, regular network programming and global and U.S. election news coverage, including U.S. presidential and mid-term contests for both networks. Additionally, at CNN Schur led all press efforts for all CNN anchors, correspondents and bureau chiefs based around the world, and at FOX News he led all strategy and press activities for the FOX broadcast Sunday morning public affairs program, FOX News Sunday.
