KALIEL ROBERTS JOINS DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS AS VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT & TECHNOLOGY, DISCOVERY DIGITAL NETWORKS

San Francisco, Ca. – Discovery Communications announces today that Kaliel Roberts has been named Vice President of Product & Technology, Discovery Digital Networks, within the company’s Digital Media division. In this position, Roberts will join the management team of Discovery Digital Networks, the company’s burgeoning original online video business and home to networks including Revision3, TestTube, Animalist, the DeFranco Network and SourceFed. There, she will lead the digital products vision and oversee the company’s technology efforts across web, mobile, OTT, game consoles and other emerging platforms.

An engineer by training, Roberts brings a wealth of experience as a digital product lead for such companies and brands including ZDNet/CNET, Time Warner, Current Media, Yahoo! and Virgin. Among her many accomplishments, Roberts created one of the first UGC video upload experiences during her time with Current Media and built Yahoo!’s highly successful video player.

Roberts is based at Discovery’s San Francisco office.
