DISCOVERY EDUCATION GIVES STUDENTS VIP ACCESS TO 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE THROUGH UNIQUE VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP SERIES BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE

SILVER SPRING, Md. [December 12, 2013] - Discovery Education announced today that it will launch a new Virtual Field Trip series, "Of the People: Live from the White House,designed to offer middle and high school students unique access to White House professionals, experts and personalities in a series of 30-minute virtual events broadcast live from the White House and open to all classrooms nationwide.

This innovative Virtual Field Trip series launches December 16 at 1 p.m. ET with a special look at the art and history of the White House, featuring curator William Allman.  Students virtually participating in the webinar will join classrooms across the country to explore the art and history of the iconic building that has served as the primary residence for 42 of our nation's presidents and their families for 213 years.  Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) student Anasseh Holt will join the White House event, hosting a live interview with Mr. Allman.

All installments in this series will be streamed live on Discovery Education's website at http://www.discoveryeducation.com//Live/of-the-people-history-and-art-of-white-house.cfm and will be supported with digital video and other learning tools to support student engagement.

Webinars will address topics that range from community service to climate change and from foreign policy to science and technology.
