DISCOVERY EDUCATION WELCOMES JESSICA NAPOLI AS DIRECTOR OF CONTENT PARTNERSHIPS

(Silver Spring, MD) - Discovery Education, the leading provider of digital content and professional development for K-12 classrooms, has named Jessica Napoli director of content partnerships. With more than 15 years of experience in multimedia asset management and acquisition analysis, Napoli will lead Discovery Education's content licensing process to find the most leading-edge content to fulfill different students' learning modalities across video, game, interactive, text and audio platforms. In this role, she will also manage all content asset data to provide a unified view of content use, and will work with Discovery Education internal teams to identify content needs.

Napoli joins Discovery Education from Al Jazeera America where she most recently served as business affairs and acquisitions consultant. In that position, she led reversion program acquisition initiatives and worked closely with third party producers to acquire new programming.

Prior to joining Al Jazeera America, Napoli worked as vice president of video products and archive management at the National Geographic Society where she led the digital motion department overseeing acquisitions and ancillary rights, research, archive management, education sales and marketing departments. Napoli also worked as director of intellectual property, acquisitions and new business development at Tribune Media Services International where she developed new products and services for distribution to the consumer market.

She has also held roles at National Geographic Television as director of television and film acquisitions and video rights and clearances, as well as the Los Angeles Times Syndicate as a national account executive new media.

Napoli is based in Discovery Education's offices at Discovery Communication's global headquarters in Silver Spring, Md.
