New York [March 15, 2018] Inspired by her family’s construction heritage, contractor and fifth-generation builder Marnie Oursler returns for a new season of DIY Network’s Big Beach Builds on Monday, April 9, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Set in the seaside communities surrounding Bethany Beach, Delaware, the eight-episode season will follow Marnie as she revamps rundown beachside properties into stunning dream getaways.

“After a day of fun in the sun, you don’t want to come home to a dingy beach house,” said Marnie. “I love turning these old beach homes into beautiful retreats that families will enjoy for generations.”

In the premiere episode, Marnie will meet the Thornton family, who have enjoyed many summers at their beach house. Although the location is perfect, the cottage has an awkward layout for their growing family. Marnie will maximize the home’s space by adding a vaulted ceiling, an open floorplan in the kitchen and living room, as well as custom bunk beds for the kids.
