MOONSHINERS Season Two Premiere Breaks Series Ratings Records

The return of MOONSHINERS on Wednesdays at 10PM ET/PT grabbed its highest ratings ever delivering an average of over three million viewers making Discovery Channel the #1 cable network among both Persons and Male 25-54, P/M18-49, and P/M18-34 delivery beating all other cable networks, including A&E, TBS and History Channel for Wednesday evening Prime Time delivery. Among Men 18-34 delivery, Discovery Channel also beat broadcast network programming on CBS, ABC and NBC in Wednesday Prime Time.
MOONSHINERS season premiere, "Rise and Shine", at 10PM ET/PT earned a series best with 1.77 P25-54 rating and delivered 3.063 million viewers P2+. The season two premiere also posted double-digit gains over both the season one premiere and season one finale, making "Rise and Shine" Discovery Channel's highest-rated Wednesday night series telecast ever among P25-54 ratings and delivery.
Wednesday's premiere of MOONSHINERS also beat broadcast television network programming in M18-34 delivery, including CBS's "CSI", "Criminal Minds" and "Survivor: Philippines"; ABC's "The Middle", "The Neighbors", "Suburgatory" and "Nashville"; and NBC's "Chicago Fire".
From 9-10PM ET/PT, COUNTDOWN TO THE SHINE earned a 1.50 P25-54 rating and was watched by 2.6 million viewers.
MOONSHINERS follows the most wanted moonshiner in the U.S., Tim Smith, his sidekick Tickle, a multi-generational band of bootleggers and the law enforcement officer tasked with catch them in the act of making moonshine.
An all-new episode of MOONSHINERS will air on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10PM ET/PT.
