CHRISTO DOYLE REUPS AS HOST OF DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S THE DIRT AND EXPANDS HOSTING DUTIES

Christo Doyle has re-signed as host of Discovery Channel's The Dirt, the pre-show to Discovery's #1 series, Gold Rush, on which he also serves as executive producer. Additionally, he has been named Vice President, Development and Production for Discovery Channel. Doyle will continue to report to Dolores Gavin, Executive Vice President, Development and Production, Discovery Channel.

Doyle, an Emmy award-winning, 13-year veteran of Discovery Communications, will continue to host the popular Friday night series, The Dirt, while expanding his hosting duties to other programming, including the online after show for Discovery's new series, Game of Stones. As Vice President, Development and Production, Doyle will be responsible for bringing new series and specials to Discovery while supervising the development and production of concepts to green light, in addition to maintaining the quality of current series through production and delivery. Doyle will also identify writers, producers and talent necessary to develop compelling new characters and programming and help set development strategy for the network while overseeing select productions as executive producer on series.

Doyle earlier served as Vice President, Executive Producer, Discovery Channel where he executive produced Gold Rush, Jungle Gold, Saint Hoods, American Chopper, Dual Survival, and Flying Wild Alaska, among others. During his tenure at Discovery, he has produced programming for Discovery Channel, TLC, Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, FitTV and HD Theater. Over the years, he has served as Executive Producer on established series that has included Monster Garage, Miami Ink, and Dirty Jobs. He was also the executive producer of the critically acclaimed Steven Spielberg, Dreamworks, Discovery Channel series, The Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero.

Before joining Discovery, Doyle served in production roles at networks that included ESPN and NBC Sports. He earned a BA in political science from the University of Vermont.
