(Los Angeles, Calif.) - Experience the universal story that unites us with every animal on the planet. LIFE STORY, a Discovery Channel/BBC co-production, premieres Saturday, June 6 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT) on the Discovery Channel. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, LIFE STORY takes us on the greatest of all adventures - the journey through life. For the first time ever, this six-part series will follow animal characters up-close in their natural habitat as they attempt to overcome the challenges of life and survival with resilience, tenacity and extraordinary behavior.

Over the course of six engaging and emotionally powerful episodes, LIFE STORY will follow these animals through various stages of life as they take steps towards their ultimate target: creating the next generation. LIFE STORY will illustrate the incredible cycle of life from the animals' first steps to adulthood as they learn to adapt to life without parents, find shelter and refuge from enemies, gain a position of power in their world, breed and reproduce, and finally, attempt to rear offspring.

Filmed in 29 countries on six continents and recording over 1,800 hours of footage, LIFE STORY will capture unique animal behavior from around the globe, from Australia and Southeast Asia to Africa and the United states, along with stunning landscapes and natural spectacles.

LIFE STORY is the first landmark series to be shot in ultra-hi-definition (4K), delivering the highest quality images ever seen in wildlife documentary. From a humpback whale who selflessly rescues a youngster from a shark in the United States to an Australian peacock jumping spiders who perform an extraordinarily colorful ‘mating dance,' many of these stories have been filmed for the first time, providing viewers with an all-access view into the animals' captivating lives and instincts.

LIFE STORY will be available on Blu-ray and DVD late Fall 2015 distributed by BBC Home Entertainment. LIFE STORY is a BBC/Discovery Channel/France Televisions co-production distributed globally by BBC Worldwide. For the Natural History Unit, Mike Gunton serves as Executive Producer and Rupert Barrington is Series Producer. For Discovery Channel, Sarah Spaniolo is Producer. LIFE STORY is produced in partnership with The Open University.
