Lara Spencer

Lara Spencer, co-host of ABC News' morning program Good Morning America and New York Times bestselling author, is the creator, executive producer and host of the Emmy® award winning competition series Flea Market Flip on HGTV and Great American Country. In the series, Lara—a designer and longtime flea market enthusiast—challenges two teams to repurpose flea market finds for a profit and a chance to win $5,000.

In 2019, she appeared in A Very Brady Renovation to combine forces with fellow HGTV stars and the Brady cast to execute the boldest home renovation the world has ever seen: a full-scale overhaul of the world-famous Brady Bunch house in Los Angeles.

Lara began her career in the NBC Page Program in New York after she graduated from Penn State University in 1992. In 2004, she was named the host of the CBS entertainment news magazine show, The Insider, and later hosted three primetime television specials for the network. It was her nightly feature, Life Around Here with Lara Spencer, that got her noticed by Good Morning America, and she was asked to join them in 1999. Lara was named a co-anchor for GMA in 2011.

Lara is the mother of two children, Kate and Duff, and currently resides in New York City with her husband, tech entrepreneur Rick McVey.
