September 22- "Oprah, Mariel Hemingway and Bobby Williams: Finding Soul Connections"

Oprah sits down with Academy Award®-nominated actress and bestselling author Mariel Hemingway, and her eco-adventurer boyfriend Bobby Williams to explore mind-body-spirit wholehearted living.  It's an inspiring conversation about finding your balance, seeking adventure, and learning how to live a simpler, more vibrant life, which was the impetus for their new book "Running with Nature."  Hemingway has made it her life's mission to promote spiritual and physical health, topics Mariel also explores in her compelling real-life film "Running from Crazy," coming to theaters soon. Today, Hemingway and Williams show us how to tap into our soul's mission and cultivate a life filled with fun, love, laughter, and adventure.  Plus, an inspiring family, the founders of the popular website and New York Times bestselling book "Young House Love," who have over a million unique hits per month, show us how they find adventure closer to home. 


September 22 (from noon-1:00 p.m.)- "Help Desk"

What happens when you invite one of today's most celebrated spiritual teachers to offer free advice at a "help desk" in a busy public place?  Find out in a new special hosted by Gotham Chopra, Deepak Chopra's son, as he introduces his world-renowned father and sets up an outdoor help desk in Madison Square Park in New York City.  Chopra brings his spiritual wisdom to the streets, offering life-changing wisdom to hard-hitting questions about relationships, health, spirituality, and personal transformation.  Then, "8 Habits of Love" author  Reverend Ed Bacon sets up shop in Venice Beach, California, offering spiritual wisdom and inspiring answers to questions about parenting, loss, faith, and sexuality. 


September 29- "Oprah & Steven Pressfield:  Unlocking Your Creative Genius"

Author of "The War of Art" Steven Pressfield joins Oprah at her Maui retreat for a delightful and uplifting conversation on breaking down the barriers that keep us from realizing our purpose in the world.  For anyone who has ever felt "stuck," Pressfield offers practical insights he gained from his own struggles attempting to write his first novel - which went on to become a bestselling book and Hollywood feature film, The Legend of Bagger Vance.


October 6- "Oprah and Bestselling Author Anne Lamott: The Three Essential Prayers"

Beloved New York Times bestselling author of "Help Thanks Wow: The Three Essential Prayers," "Operating Instructions," and "Bird by Bird," Anne Lamott joins Oprah in Maui to talk about the three types of prayer that can help anyone through challenging times.


October 13- "Oprah and Mark Nepo: "The Big C": Healing Body and Soul"

Mark Nepo has taught poetry and spirituality across the country for 40 years.   Diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma in 1987, Nepo underwent a major spiritual journey that inspired his later work.  In this very touching interview with Oprah, filmed at her Maui retreat, Nepo, now a cancer survivor, will talk about his inner transformation. It's a powerful hour for anyone whose life has been touched by cancer. 


October 20-  "Oprah and Mark Nepo: Listening to the Soul"

In this interview with Oprah, author of "Seven Thousand Ways to Listen" Mark Nepo shares why he believes listening with a full heart is the key to living a vibrant and meaningful life.  Nepo explains how modern-day distractions can keep us from establishing deep connections with one another; he offers practical insights on how to cultivate our listening skills, deepening relationships with ourselves and others. 


October 27- "Oprah and Bestselling Author Dani Shapiro:  Finding Devotion" 

Oprah sits down with the bestselling author of "Devotion" Dani Shapiro, to discuss one of life's biggest questions: What do you believe?   When Shapiro's young son began asking her questions like this one, she didn't know how to answer him.  It led to what she calls a "spiritual crisis," and ultimately a quest to discover what she truly believed.  Shapiro takes viewers on a powerful spiritual detective story, investigating clues from her religious upbringing, while offering insights into how anyone can craft a spiritual practice, overcome past obstacles, and learn to live in the moment.  


November 3- "Oprah and Jack Kornfield" [working title]

Jack Kornfield, one of the leading Buddhist teachers in America, shares with Oprah his profound path of mindful presence, starting with his graduation from Dartmouth College in Asian Studies in 1967 and joining the Peace Corps for Public Health Service in northeast Thailand, home to several of the world's oldest Buddhist forest monasteries.  After teaching in centers and universities worldwide and leading International Buddhist Teacher meetings with the Dalai Lama, he returned to the United States and co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, and the Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California, where he currently lives and teaches.  In this interview, Kornfield shares the surprising secret to growing your spiritual practice and introduces Buddhism 101, the basic principles and practices involved in mindful living, which ultimately can lead to peace, compassion, and even Nirvana.


November 10- "Oprah & Karen Armstrong:  Losing Faith, Finding God" 

Oprah sits down with bestselling author and TED prize winner Karen Armstrong who shares her groundbreaking insights into religion and faith.  After conducting decades of research, Armstrong reveals the thread that she says is common to all the world's great religions:  compassion.  Armstrong outlines simple practices anyone can do to cultivate compassion and create a more harmonious world. Whether you're waiting in line at the supermarket or sitting at your desk at the office, Armstrong says we all can put ourselves in another person's shoes and offer them our understanding and respect.


November 17- "Oprah and Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz" [working title]

Oprah sits down with Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz who shares the story of his inspiring rise from the housing projects in Brooklyn, New York, to his current role as a global thought leader and innovator.  Schultz will share the leadership lessons he's learned while guiding this iconic brand for more than two decades. Reflecting on his #1 New York Times bestseller, "Onward: How Starbucks Fought for Its Life Without Losing Its Soul," Schultz recounts the story behind the global coffee company's comeback in 2008, when he decided to return as the CEO to help restore Starbucks' core values and mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit - one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time.


November 24- "Oprah & Francine and David Wheeler: After Sandy Hook"

Francine and David Wheeler tragically lost their 6-year-old son Benjamin in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December 2012.  With astounding grace, spirit and wisdom, the Wheelers sit down with Oprah to share how suffering can be a catalyst for transformation and how their loss has led them on a journey to inspire both social and legislative change, reminding us that nothing is guaranteed so we must make the most of the present moment. They also share what they have discovered about the significance of genuine listening and mutual understanding between people of different values.


December TBD- "Soul to Soul"

Oprah asks life's "big questions" of thought leaders and spiritual teachers, including never-before-seen clips and moments from Super Soul Sunday guests, plus appearances by celebrities including Kerry Washington, George Lucas, Tina Turner, Donna Karan, T.D. Jakes, John Legend and more!
