Summer Rayne Oakes
Summer Rayne Oakes is an entomologist and environmental scientist by training. In 2000, she slung her hiking boots to her travel pack and embarked on a journey of cause-related modeling to push sustainability issues through fashion and media. A Cornell University graduate, Morris K. Udall Scholar and NWF Fellow, Oakes' previous work spanned multiple disciplines, all of which were deeply imbued in environmental research. Her studies in organic contaminants & environmental health, rainforest regeneration, invasive species, landscape impact analysis, and aquatic entomology overlapped with her modeling with a cause, for which she is largely recognized.
