‘Real Emergency Calls’ takes a look inside an emergency service centre located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in America. The team of operators that work there receive three million emergency calls annually and with lives literally on the line, it is their job to co-ordinate police, emergency and fire-fighter teams with priority code systems, electronic locator maps and cutting-edge technology. This series reveals the heroism of the emergency operators and the courage of those calling out for help. Combined with interviews of those involved, these stories unfold exactly as they were experienced.
