‘Great Savannah Race’ explores the mysterious procession that takes place every year on the plains of the Masai Mara. With over a million animal taking part, the massive herd forms the largest concentration of mammals in the world. However, no-one knows what brings them together or why they engage in this furious race across the savannah. For the first time, scientists closely follow the great migration and monitor the progress of participants. With help the of satellite navigation and advanced technology, 10 of the animals have been fitted with satellite collars to track their movements 24 hours a day.  Learn more about the long and dangerous voyage the animals embark on to savannah and what awaits them at the end of their journey.
