Every Sunday throughout August, Animal Planet invites you watch ‘Wild Europe’ - an epic journey exploring the events that have shaped the landscapes and wildlife of this continent. The four-part series will transport you back in time, through tropical swamps and ice ages, amongst civilizations and revolutions, finding clues that relate to the creation of Europe’s foundations. The first episode uses stunning visual imagery to reveal what was once a magical underwater world at the Gorge du Verdon river canyon in France and Sahara-like fiery sands across the now-cosmopolitan centres of Rome and Athens.
