INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT CREATED FOR HAITI EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

- PSA available to all media companies to localise and encourage viewer support for the Haiti Earthquake -

London, UK - The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and Discovery Networks EMEA today announced that they have partnered to develop a Public Service Announcement (PSA) for the Haiti Earthquake appeal.

Arthur Bastings, EVP and Managing Director, Discovery Networks EMEA said: "We watched with the world as the tragic news unfolded in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti, and felt compelled to take action.

"As a media company we have the resources and ability to reach and engage with a large global audience.  When we decided to broadcast an appeal across EMEA we found there were no international public service announcements available, so our creative team was quick to offer their time and talents to create two spots in partnership with the IFRC."

Pierre Kremer, Director of Communications for IFRC said: "We truly value the support and expertise of Discovery Networks. These PSAs will help us keep the focus on the ongoing needs in Haiti."

The fifteen second PSAs feature visuals and text facts about the disaster. The end screens include calls to action for the IFRC including contact details to make a donation.

The Haiti Appeal PSAs are broadcasting across Discovery Networks EMEA's portfolio of channels and social media sites. All interested parties should contact Discovery directly for the files which can be used internationally and without any costs so long as they are not altered.
