Every year, millions of Americans fall prey to real-life medical mysteries - ailments that go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years. Their lives are thrown into turmoil, and sometimes their sanity is called into question, as medical professionals struggle to understand their baffling conditions. This new series of ‘Mystery Diagnosis', follows the stories of several individuals who are desperate to get to the bottom of their unknown illnesses, including; a couple who anxiously fear that their young son will harm himself when they discover he does not cry out when afflicted with pain; Nicole, who as a teenager, began to lose her hair in great clumps, and now has shooting pains in her jaw and a face that seems to be caving in; baby Samantha who had surgery to remove congenital cataracts that could lead to blindness, but as the months have passed her parents realise she is also unable to roll, crawl or talk, and her head is unusually small for her age, and Kati, a college freshman, who after developing large, puss filled blisters all over her body is desperate for medical help.
