Deaf and Blind Triplets
This inspiring documentary explores the remarkable world of Zoe, Sophie and Emma Hooker - the world's only deaf-blind triplets - and how their mother Liz, stepdad George and big sister Sarah cope with daily struggles and challenges. The eight-year-olds were born extremely premature, leaving their eyes insufficient time to develop, and the high-powered antibiotics that kept them alive in the NICU eventually made them deaf. But in their dark and silent world, there is hope. Lindsay, an "intervener" from Canada, is specially trained in communicating with deaf-blind children. She visits the Hookers' home to show how in just a few weeks, a deaf-blind child can begin to connect with their surroundings.
