A year in the making, this ground-breaking two-part documentary follows the lives, loves and physical transformations of four female-to-male transsexuals; Lee, Bob, Scott and Stephen. Lee and Bob have been living as gay women for four years and now want to live as gay men. Scott was once Sarah and as a child tried to take his own life, now the only physical reminder of this life as a woman is his hated breasts. Finally, Stephen has a successful career as a law lecturer and campaigner for transsexual rights and has four children. Make Me a Man features the physical changes these four people endure, from injecting testosterone to make their voices break to undergoing phalloplasty to create artificial penises, and the hopes and fears of their partners, friends and families
