Caroline Quentin: A Passage Through India

Image 1 / 8

British actress, Caroline Quentin, embarks on a colourful and diverse journey around India, starting in the far north, and working her way over 3500 miles to its southernmost tip. Caroline's eye-opening adventure explores the rich spectrum of modern Indian life as well as challenging preconceptions, including her own, of this subcontinent. Caroline immerses herself into Indian society at every level: from Maharajas to mahouts, staying with local families en route. She will experience India's remarkable contrasts, from expansive, breath-taking landscapes such as Kanha National Park to dense, humid metropolises including Kolkata and Mumbai, which encompass both the extremes of wealth and desperate poverty. From ancient treasures to the high tech modernism of this self-styled 21st century Tiger state, the series will tell a human story as Caroline connects with the lives of the ordinary Indians she meets along the way in order to explore what modern India really is and what its future holds.
