Image 1 / 10

Returning for an eye-opening third series, ‘My Strange Addiction' tells the compelling stories of individuals battling bizarre obsessive behaviours. From eating cat food, to dating a car, addicts allow viewers into their homes for a first-hand look at life with an addiction. Friends and family members confront their loved ones to discuss the financial, psychological and physical effects of these behaviours, and the strain they put on their relationships. Finally, addicts meet with a medical professional in an attempt to understand their compulsions, and take the first steps towards living an addiction-free life. This series meet Bertha, who drinks up to five bottles of nail polish every day. Can a doctor convince her to stop before she permanently damages her health? Carrie is addicted to drinking her urine, believing that it helped treat her cancer despite no medical proof. Can Carrie's daughters persuade her to see a physician before it's too late? Meanwhile, Shannon has developed a dangerous addiction to gasoline, drinking about 15 teaspoons every day. Will a family intervention finally convince Shannon to get help?
