With 30 years in the trade, decorative antiques dealer Drew Pritchard has perfected the art of finding gems in the most unlikely places, restoring them beautifully and giving the pieces a new lease of life. In this series, he’s once again travelling the length and breadth of the country in search of hidden treasures in stunning stately homes, Britain’s best dealers and all kinds of quirky locations.
Teaming up once more with his trusty sidekick and old school mate Tee, the boys are back on the road to rummage through salvage yards, industrial buildings, old mills, tramways and country houses, all run or owned by colourful and engaging characters.
In this series, Drew and Tee navigate the English Channel and venture to central France. The idyllic Loire region is home to some of the country’s finest markets and best dealers, all at the best prices. Or so Drew hopes! It’s a crucial trip for the company; Drew thinks that French antiques could be making a comeback, and he wants to be ahead of the curve. Meeting charismatic dealers and trawling through the vast attics of a large chateau could provide Drew with high quality French pieces he just can’t find back home. And of course, there’s the cheese and wine!
Back in the UK, Drew visits businesses ‘clearing out’, experiences some new kids on the block who are starting ‘new ventures’, searches for ‘unusual objects in unusual places’, sources ‘best sellers’, goes ‘off the beaten track’ and ‘leaves no stone unturned!’
While Drew is out on the road, we continue to delve in to the lives of the team back at base, DP Ltd HQ in Conwy, North Wales. As ever, Rebecca is on hand to research the fascinating historical items that emerge from the back of the van, Carl and Gavin keep the pieces ticking over with their renovation skills, and manager Ruth keeps everyone in check! Trusty restorers Craig and Alex bring wonderful furniture back to life with handy hints and tips.
Sales are booming at Drew Pritchard Ltd, but the pressure is on to stay at the top of the pile. With a constant strain to source great items, keep the stock fresh and ticking over, viewers are transported right into this world… to experience the excitement, challenges, trials and tribulations of a thriving and fast moving antiques business!
